South Mountain - Ahwatukee, Phoenix & Laveen
At more than 16,000 acres, South Mountain Park/Preserve is one of the largest municipally managed parks in the nation and consists of three mountain ranges. The park boasts more than 50 miles of trails. Surrounding the mountain are the neighborhoods of Ahwatukee (east and south side of the mountain), South Mountain (north side of mountain) and Laveen (west side of the mountain). The extension of the Loop 202 freeway has made the westside and eastside communities more accessible to one another. This area offers newer homes in master planned communities most with mountain views.
